What should I do before returning an iPhone?

FAQs Our Warranties & Returns

To receive a refund for an iPhone you are returning to Silvercell, you should follow these instructions.

First, chat with a U.S. based Silvercell agent. Once the RA# has been requested, please allow up to 2 business days for the RA# to be sent to your email. When you receive the email containing the RA#, you must clear the phone. Without performing these actions, Silvercell cannot gain access to the phone and therefore a refund will not be issued. To make certain this doesn't happen, you need to remove your Apple ID, turn Find My iPhone off, remove face/touch ID and any passcodes and erase all content and settings. Here are the steps in the order they need to be performed.

Before starting these steps, don't forget to back up all content and settings to iCloud.

After backing up and confirming your data is safe, follow Apple's current instructions for preparing an iPhone for a new owner. Menu names can vary by iOS version.

  1. If an Apple Watch is paired with the iPhone, unpair it.
  2. Open Settings, tap your name, then Sign Out. Follow the prompts and enter your Apple Account password if asked.
  3. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings. On older iOS versions, General may show Reset instead.
  4. Follow the prompts to erase the iPhone. If you are asked about an eSIM, get help from SilverService before erasing it if your service still needs to be moved.
  5. Confirm the phone has returned to its initial setup screen and is no longer linked to your Apple Account or protected by Activation Lock.

Finally, turn the phone off and prepare it for shipment back to Silvercell. Please make sure you ship the phone back with the original box, charger and any other accessories that accompanied the phone. The phone box must be packed in another box (preferably the one the one the order was originally shipped in) and that box should have the Return Authorization Number (RA#) written on the outside box.
