Phone & Account Features
How do I set up my hotspot?
Hotspot lets a compatible phone share its mobile data with another device. Set it up on the phone itself; your hotspot name and password are not stored in your Silvercell account.
- Make sure your Silvercell line is active. In My Account, open the line under My Lines, then check Line features > Mobile Hotspot - Free. If it is available but off, follow the on-screen instructions to turn it on. Hotspot is not offered on the Home Phone Replacement Plan. Contact SilverService if the option is missing or unavailable.
- Turn on mobile data on your phone.
- iPhone: Open Settings > Personal Hotspot (or Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot), then turn on Allow Others to Join. The password is shown under Wi-Fi Password.
- Android: Open your phone's Settings and look for Hotspot & tethering or Mobile Hotspot, often under Network & internet or Connections. Check the hotspot name and password there, then turn it on. Menu names vary by model.
- On the other device, open Wi-Fi settings, select your phone's hotspot name, and enter the password shown on your phone.
Do not assume the password is your phone number or use your Silvercell sign-in Verification PIN. You can change the hotspot password in the phone's settings. Turn hotspot off when you finish to save battery and data.
Hotspot uses your plan's high-speed data and requires a phone that supports it. See Phone Guides for model-specific help, or chat with SilverService.
